A window cleaned properly stays clean far longer, because most of what makes glass look dirty again quickly is sitting in the frame, not on the pane.

Glass, inside and out

Both faces of every accessible window, finished with a squeegee rather than a cloth — which is what actually eliminates streaking.

Screens

Removed, washed and refitted. Screens hold a surprising amount of dust, and putting dirty screens back over clean glass undoes half the work.

Tracks and sills

Vacuumed and wiped out. This is the part most people skip and the reason windows get gritty again within a fortnight.

Frames wiped down

The visible frame edges cleaned so the whole opening looks finished rather than just the glass.

Hard water spotting

Sprinkler overspray and mineral deposits need specific treatment, not more scrubbing. Left long enough these etch permanently into the glass — worth dealing with before that point. We'll tell you honestly if a pane is already past saving.
